oops. hold off on this. I think my previous release of 2.0.2 is already good enough.

I still have the same problem:
"Cannot start: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.gjt.sp.util.IOUtilities.closeQuietly(Ljava/io/InputStream;)V
Try updating to a newer version of the plugin."

PHPParser 2.0.2
Oracle Java 1.8.0_11 on Fedora (but I have the same problem with Java 1.7)
jEdit 5.2pre1 (but the same is for jEdit 5.1)

There is no source code changes, but this could be a binary breakage.
Re-opening with newer version depends.
